CRP

Brand: Cypress

Clinical significance:

CRP aids in non-specific host defense against infectious organisms (bacteria, viruses, yeast and fungi) by activating the classical complement pathway, and is one of the most sensitive acute phase proteins. Patients with inflammatory disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn disease can show higher levels of CRP in their serum. During infection or inflammation, CRP serum levels can rise a 1000-fold within 48 hours.

Intended use:

The Cypress Diagnostics kit CRP Latex is an in vitro diagnostic medical device intended to be used for the qualitative detection of C-Reactive Protein (CRP) in human serum. The device is not automated. The detection of CRP is intended to be used for the detection of systemic inflammatory processes due to an active disease. This kit is intended to be used by healthcare professionals in a laboratory-based testing environment.
